The Grenada Technical and Allied Workers’ Union today Wednesday, November 17, 2021 swept the ballot in a Ministry of Labour conducted poll to become the Bargaining Agent for the Operators employed at Cane Co Ltd. One hundred percent (100%) of the Operators who casted their ballot voted in favour of the Union.

Representing the Ministry of Labour was Mr. Cyrus Griffith and Ms. Neesha Lewis; representing the Factory was Mr. Duncan Butler - General Manager and Ms. Lucy Murchie while Mr. Troy Hassell - Industrial Relations Officer represented the Union.

The Union has met with the new members and a Shop Steward has been elected to be the representative at the workplace.

The Grenada Technical and Allied Workers’ Union finds it necessary to clarify its position on the policy position of the Government to dissolve the Grenada Board of Tourism and to replace it with a Tourism Authority. This necessity arises out of misleading statements carried by the media in their yesterday news cast.
