In an effort to alleviate the harsh economic realities faced by some families, the Grenada Technical and Allied Workers’ Union has this year continued a program which began last year and is deemed to become an annual feature of our May Day celebration.

Between May 1st and 5th 2012, the Union distributed eighteen (18) hampers for household use, each valued at over two hundred dollars ($200.00) to families and elder citizens in less than normal economic circumstances.

The hampers were compiled from donations made by workers from Bargaining Units represented by the Grenada Technical and Allied Workers’ Union as well as Real Value Supermarket IGA, Columbus Communications (G’da.) Ltd. and the Grenada Breweries Ltd.

The recipients were most appreciative of the gesture of good will which made the celebrations more meaningful to the Union.
