A delegation from the Technical and Allied Workers Union travelled on Friday 17th August, 2012 to Antigua on request of the Company to discuss possible solution to the industrial impasse which has once again led Union and workers to take industrial action.

TAWU's delegation consisted of President General, Senator Chester Humphrey, Trevor Xavier Assistant General Secretary and Shop Stewards Larry Joseph and Randy Alexander. The delegation was joined by Andre Lewis ,1st Vice President who together with Humphrey was in Antigua earlier for a Regional Trade Union meeting with Cable & Wireless.

The meeting in Antigua was amicable and LIAT requested a week to make fresh proposals to resolve the extended hours payments.

Meanwhile, workers are to give consideration to LIAT's request to suspend the current industrial action until after the new proposals are discussed.

A Union meeting with LIAT workers is schedule for Monday 20th to deliberate on LIAT's request.
