The Grenada Technical and Allied Workers’ Union (GTAWU) stands shoulder to shoulder with the Barbados Workers’ Union (BWU) and salutes its courageous and defiant fight against imperial Cable and Wireless in defense of the dignity and rights of Barbadian workers and the Trade Union Movement.
The BWU’s victory against Cable and Wireless clearly sends the message that surrender is not an option for the Trade Union Movement in the region and that he who fails to struggle shall lose not only his prominence in Caribbean society but will witness the dismemberment of the gains of the Caribbean working class won by our forefathers after years of blood, sweat and tears.
GTAWU conveyed to the BWU’s membership at Cable and Wireless its recognition of their commitment and solidarity.

GTAWU also congratulated the Executive Committee of the Barbados Workers’ Union for their courageous, heroic and militant leadership in the struggle against a mighty multinational who, having milk the region, wishes to impose its will unrestrained even against the people’s sovereignty.

WHEN WE STAND UNITED, WE STAND STRONGER! TOWARDS TRADE UNION NATIONAL and REGIONAL CONSOLIDATION!
