GTAWU / GBN Negotiations Commences

The Technical and Allied Workers (TAWU) and the Grenada Broadcasting Network today met during the first round of negotiations for a new collective agreement.

Discussions focused on salary and wage increases for the period 2011 to 2013, pensions and gratuity benefits, allowances and issues concerning certificates of recognition

 

The meeting was held at TAWU’s head office, Green St George’s.

The union’s negotiating team was headed by President General of TAWU Sen Chester Humphrey and shop stewards Levi Benoit, Eugenia Peters and Tony Julien

While GBN’s was represented by its Chief Executive Office Vic Fernandes, Human Resource Manager of the OCM Group Cecely Green , Country Manager Ryan Wallace and Operations Manager Odette Campbell.

During the meeting, the company presented an overview of its financial environment and challenges while the union appealed for consideration to the difficulties facing workers who have had to endure the impact of inflation and the fact that salaries were last adjusted in 2010

The union emphasised the need to address benefits, pensions, health insurance among other matters

Parties are due to continue discussions on Wednesday September 19th 2012 at TAWU’s House
