Landmark Convention for Domestic Workers To Come Into Force

The ILO's Convention on Domestic Workers has now been ratified by two

countries (Uruguay and the Philippines). This means it will come into

effect in 12 months time. The 12 months are counted from the date of the

deposition with the ILO of the ratification of the second country.

The Convention extends basic labour rights to tens of millions of

domestic workers worldwide.
